PANDIT HINDRAJ DIVEKAR

The Rudra Veena is considered the mother of all string
instrument. Around since very ancient time, Lord Shiva
is said to have played this instrument when he created
whole Brahamanda . This is the instrument of Shiva and
Parvati used to dance to the music that emanated. Then
after many year’s it goes back to the very time
in human’s hand when music was invented by Indian
Rishis, Munis, Meditators and Musicians trying to find
a way to express their inner experiences. Rudraveena
is an instrument with the most meditative qualities,
Today there are hardly very few Rudra Veena player’s,
Beenkar’s left in India. PANDIT HINDRAJ DIVEKAR
is a Master of Sound and Silence. Panditji
has written a beautiful book on the “ Rudra Veena”
tradition, an ancient musical string instrument, in
2000.
Since 1979, he has been giving many concerts throughout
India and abroad, through music circles, music festivals,
and Sangeet Mahotsavas.
Pandit Hindraj Divekar, alias Digambar Shivaram Divekar
is born on 4th December 1954, in Pune, Maharastra state
of India. He is a dynamicvirtuoso of the Rudra Veena
and Sitar. Pandit Hindraj is the one of the very few
surviving Rudra Veena players Beenkars in India Today.
DISTINGUISHED MAESTRO
Pandit Hindraj Divekar’s live concerts with equal
mastery in Sitar and Rudraveena (Been). Pandit Hindraj
is able to use the different sounds of both instruments
taking his audience through a wide range of moods and
emotions. He is teaching Rudra Veena (Been) Dhrupad
Style and Khayal Style, North Indian, Hindustani music
system, and Sitar at his Academy center in Pune.
A happy balance of immaculate design imagination and
Mastery of the traditional ragas of North Indian classical
music, combined with youth full dynamism, his musical
concerts keep the audience in a trance, taking them
towards an unforgettable experience of North Indian
